What to ask the crew.
Write like you would to a colleague: what you want, where, and how you will know it works. Here is a real run, then requests that work well, flows to start from, and specialists worth hiring.
a real run
"Make a small to-do list app in todo/."
Make a small to-do list app in todo/ with plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript (no frameworks): add items, tick them off, delete them, and keep them after a reload. Then add a short "How to use" section about it to README.md.
On free models: a two-step plan (the app, then the README), a check that passed, one issue found by the Taster and fixed by the Fixer. The page on the right is what it built, with a few items added.
requests that work well
Build, fix, explain, test.
Turn README.md into a one-page website in site/: a header, the sections as cards, and a dark mode that follows the system.
Say where the files go. The crew writes them, and Open preview shows the page.
npm test fails on the date tests since yesterday. Find out why and fix it without changing the tests.
Give the check command and a rule. The plan carries the command and the Taster sees its real output.
Add tests for src/price.js covering discounts, rounding and empty carts, and make sure they pass.
The cooks read the code first, then write tests; the check runs them.
How is this project organised, and where would I add a new payment method?
A question gets an answer from the Chef, with no plan and no changes.
What did you change yesterday in the login code?
The Chef looks it up in the folder's journal of past runs.
Split server.js into routes/ by area, keep every route working, and run the tests.
Bigger jobs: switch to high flame with paid keys, and up to three steps cook at once.
flows
Automations to start from.
The first four come with Kadhai. The rest are sentences to give to "describe a flow".
Every Monday at 8, list the GitHub issues closed last week in my repo and post a summary to my Discord.
When a new post appears in r/selfhosted about backups, summarise it in two lines and send it to Telegram.
Every evening, get the weather for tomorrow and the dollar to rupee rate, and add a line to notes/daily.md.
specialists
Crew members worth hiring.
Type a few words in "Generate with AI" when you hire, and the Chef writes the profile.
Someone who writes and updates READMEs and docs from the actual code.
Someone who writes focused tests for my Node code and keeps them fast.
Someone who reviews web pages for accessibility and fixes what they find.
