What Kadhai is
Kadhai is a workspace that runs on your own computer, where a small crew of AI agents builds software, checks it and automates chores for you. You describe what you want in plain words; the crew plans it, writes the files into a folder on your machine, runs checks, reviews its own work and tells you what it did. You can watch every step, step in, and undo a run.

Three ideas make the rest of this guide easy to follow:
- The crew. Six agents named after a kitchen brigade, each with one job: the Chef plans, Prep, Cook and Senior Cook write the code (simple, standard and complex steps), the Taster checks and reviews, the Fixer fixes what the Taster finds. You can hire more.
- The folder. The crew works inside one folder on your computer at a time (the workspace). It cannot read or write anything outside it.
- The models. The agents think with AI models from providers you choose: free ones (Gemini, Groq, Cerebras and more), paid ones, or a subscription you already have (Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI). When one provider is busy or out of quota, the next one carries on automatically.
Kadhai is free to run. With free keys only, it costs nothing.
